Yarn Chicken and What Makes Handmade Special...

 I played Yarn Chicken and lost... what is "Yarn Chicken"? Well, It is a self-imposed 'game' in which a crocheter/knitter is unsure if they have enough yarn in a skein to complete a project, but try to finish anyway. 

I really wanted to finish this shawl at the end of this row. I was determined 😠... but the yarn had other ideas. The funny thing was (and it wasn't funny at the time) this was a discontinued cake, which meant I had to match that green and type of yarn to finish it OR pull it out and end it sooner. I had a vision for this shawl and I was not giving up! Trial and error, 2 orders from Netherlands later and I found a match! 

That is what's special about handmade items. Someone has a vision. They use their skill and creativity to create something they love and want to share with others.  And that's what went into this shawl 😊...

AND Here are the results... Even though I still have to block and steam it, I wanted to share a photo of the shawl now that it's done! What do you think?? Are you a green girl? These colors are so crisp and refreshing. Such a pretty shawl for summer or spring...
